Hard Fought

I have now been in Germany for over 5 months now. I have to say, moving/living abroad from your home country is not cheap! However everything has gone very well so far. The job is great, my bosses are great and the work, even though difficult has provided me with an ideal opportunity to learn and develop new skills. Another big issue with moving abroad is with learning the language; I can safely say that Deustch in particular is very difficult! What appears to be a major sticking point is that having English as a first language perhaps hinders your progress, so it is easier to learn phrases and not think too much about the literal translation.

All in all, life is very good here in Stuttgart, and generally in Germany there appears to be a higher level of respect socially, not sure why but it is nice. The Weihnachtmark festival is now under-way too, one of perhaps a billion festivals that seem to occur in Germany!

I am looking forward to going back home for Xmas, and after the rushing around seeing families, just putting my feet up and doing jack all! It will be nice my parents and Alex too, who has helped me a lot whilst being here. It's a struggle living apart when you are in a new country, and it's impossible to understand unless you have done it, but now I appreciate the difficulties with it now. In all honesty, I wish it could be different, but it's my fault that I had to move abroad.

So now it's time to eat, and just relax! Sounds like a regular Sunday to me ;)
